Dreams come True

It wasn’t long ago that I was photographing my mate choppa and his dream come true of playing at St James Park, the home of NUFC (if you didn’t know).  Last week, was my turn.   Thanks to my mate Dave ‘MxCam’ Tindall, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing the Ricky Carmichael University 2013 at Fatcats Motoparc in Doncaster.  As far as it goes, it was my MX photography dream and it lived up to every expectation.

I travelled down Wednesday so could get an early start on Day 1 (Thursday) and not leave anything to chance. You can keep your weddings, this was one occasion I wasn’t about to get wrong.  I wasn’t quite sure what I was expecting to happen, but I definitely didn’t expect to be standing shoulder to shoulder with RC4 for the best part of 2 days. Added into the BONUS BUCKET was Tommy Searle & Dean Wilson as well as Jamie Dobbs and AMA LEGEND, Jeff Emig (who even gave me a lift in the little buggy).

The guys and girls involved with the RCU were truly amazing, making myself, Stu & Kyle (my 2 helpers) feel totally welcome and not at all out of place.  J.H Leale, Ricky’s right hand man, is one of the most top blokes you’ll meet, couldn’t do enough to make sure everything was running like clockwork and you can see they’re all friends and a definitely well oiled team.  The boys from Tallahassee were definitely on top professional form!

Anyway, pictures and the likes… here’s a bit of a selection including a whip shot that actually gave me chills as RC looked straight down my lens like a true pro.

Lets see if this experience can open any doors eh, because it certainly feels like it should.

One last quick best wishes to my mate Parko who I’m pretty sure is still smiling after getting a call from Ricky Carmichael totally out of the blue to question his man crush on one Mr Everts, the European Motocross GOD!  I’m just pleased he didn’t think it was me taking the piss and hang up!

Hope you enjoy the pics as much as I enjoyed taking them!
