If you ever find yourself stuck on a Sunday morning, why not check out TriNorthumberlands website and test your skills in the water, on the road and on a bike!
Ashington Sprint Triathlon kicked off 2011’s series of events which have grown from strength to strength over recent years, with 2 of the events now being World and European qualifiers…not bad!
The Ashington Sprint Triathlon kicked off with a bit of a dip in the pool at Ashington leisure centre, followed by a brisk bike ride up and around Bothal, including the dreaded Bothal Bank..twice. The a run finishing up at the transition area in the Park….SIMPLE!
It was good to see a diverse level of entrants from the serious to the first timers and everything in between.
Well done to Barry and the guys who organised everything and even more well done to all those who completed the event.
If you fancy getting involved, check out TriNorthumberland on Facebook or visit http://www.trinorthumberland.co.uk it really is suitable for everyone.
Also I must add a big thanks to Simon Foster who helped me out by catching a few snaps of the transition area and swim while I ambushed the bikes near Bothal. Some of Simons images are included in the slideshow below. More of his work can be seen here http://www.facebook.com/pages/Simon-Foster-P-H-O-T-O-G-R-A-P-H-E-R/161209320583429
